According to LinkedIn, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and analytical reasoning led the site’s global list of the most in-demand hard skills in 2019.
Blockchain tops the list of most in-demand hard skills for 2020 and is now being used in industries ranging from shipping to healthcare, from farming and food safety to entertainment and gaming.
Research firm Gartner has estimated that blockchain’s business value-add will reach about $176 billion by 2025, and $3.1 trillion by 2030.
Here are the top hard skills businesses will ask for now and in the coming years.

1. Blockchain expertise
Cryptocurrency mining and associated skills are not yet common but for those who have it, it’s immensely valuable. To build your blockchain skills, you’ll also need a solid base of coding and software development skills.
2. Cloud computing
These days, everything is backed up in “the cloud.” Many companies are running their entire business out of cloud-based data and applications, and all that data needs advanced engineering and management. In fact, according to PC, cloud computing was the highest-paid IT certification of 2019.
3. Artificial intelligence
