We are getting ready to launch a new spirits product – rich in history, deep in storytelling and full of inspiration. We have an opportunity to guide people back to the times of bravery and boldness, propelling them to do the same today and within the future.
We need an ambitious social media intern to help build our audience, provide engagement and continue to grow our audience organically.
About us
Bhakta Farms is a family-run business with the simple goals of revitalizing old farms, producing exquisite spirits (among other things), and ultimately reviving America. Simple goals, but not easy ones. Founder Raj Bhakta led the rye whiskey boom with the creation of WhistlePig Whiskey and pioneered the farm-to-bottle ethos. In 8 years, Raj grew WhistlePig to one of the most iconic whiskey brands and a business worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The stakes are higher now: we have a farm in Vermont, a ranch in Florida, and a chateau in France, all of which have the potential to produce the grapes, apples, and grain that are the foundation of distilled spirits. We have secured the oldest and best spirit in the world, and our new portfolio will grow from there.
We are looking for an ambitious young team to join us and be at the heart of our organization, fueling us with ideas to drive growth. This is one of several intern and junior positions available and looking to start immediately.
This position is based in Shoreham, Vermont, but there may be occasional travel to our 1000 acre ranch in Vero Beach, Florida where we have sugarcane, and Chateau Bhakta and cellars in the province of Gers, France. Any travel and necessary travel expenses will be covered.
Requirements:
- Recent graduate or current student from a top digital marketing program. Prefer a graduate study but bright smart undergraduates are welcome to apply
- Proven work experience in social media marketing including planning and managing content
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, can easily monitor and organize multiple social media accounts
- Passionate about new social tools and trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must have a thorough understanding of social media management and strategy
- Experience with campaign management tools and software
- Experience identifying and building relationships with prominent influencers/brands and running influencer/brand campaigns
- The ability to create and implement a successful social media marketing plan and editorial calendar
- The ability to drive consistent, relevant traffic and leads from our social media presence
- Entrepreneurial in spirit, driven for the best output, creative thinker and solution-oriented
- Understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising, as well as an understanding of media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements
- Bonus if you are a photographer with video-editing skills! We will happily supply all the required tools.
- Must like or be interested in farm living, the outdoors and not afraid of hard work

This is a summer internship with opportunity to extend or grow into a full time position based in VT.
