The tasks, duties, and responsibilities required by our digital media and social media manager are shown in the job description below:
- Maintaining and growing the organization’s web presence in order to boost or promote brand awareness
- Staying abreast or up-to-date with digital media trends and developments
- Liaising and working in relation to marketing, sales, and product development teams in order to ensure effective and efficient brand consistency
- Effectively overseeing, monitoring, and analyzing the performance of the website.
- Ensuring that communications are developed and that website is up-to-date, relevant, and on brand
- Ensuring that government policies, standards, and procedures for digital content accessibility strictly adhere and compliance with the POPI act.
- Managing the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Tiktok and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels
- Oversee, plan and deliver content across different platforms using scheduling tools
- Launch and manage new competitions and campaigns that promote your organisation and brand
- Form key relationships with influencers across the social media platforms
- Undertake audience research
- Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions
- Monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights
- Research and evaluate the latest trends and techniques in order to find new and better ways of measuring social media activity
- Analyse competitor activity
- Recommend improvements and drive campaigns to increase lead generation and acquisition of new supporters and donors
- Competent in design, photography and videography
- Set targets to increase brand awareness and increase audiences and engagement
- Manage, motivate and coach junior staff such as social media executives or assistants
- Manage a budget for digital and social media activities
- Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within organisation.
- Collaborate across teams and departments working to meet overall objectives of the organisation.
- Regularly liaise with agencies, sponsors and partners via telephone, email, conference calls or face-to-face.
Requirements:
- Communications, marketing or digital media degree/diploma
- Five years experience in Digital and social media marketing
- Laptop
